Penza pensioner convicted of violence against police officer

Penza, 5 October 2012. PenzaNews. An elderly resident of Penza was convicted of violence against a police officer.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Penza region, the pensioner was arrested by patrol police officers for appearing in a state of extreme alcohol intoxication in public.
“While in the police lobby, the citizen loudly expressed his discontent with the arrest, and then came up to the police officer and tried to grab his service weapon, which was in a holster on his belt, then he twice hit the police officer on the head with his hand,” explained the press service.
At the trial the defendant stated that he did not remember any of his actions because of strong alcohol intoxication, and apologized to the police officer.
“Oktyabrsky District Court imposed a fine on the man in the amount of seven thousand rubles,” added the press service.
