Penza, 10 October 2012. PenzaNews. 33 people died and 340 got injured in the accidents caused by drunk drivers in the Penza region for the past 9 months of 2012.

According to the Traffic Police reports, the largest number of accidents occurred due to mismatch of speed and specific conditions.

“In addition, among the common causes of accidents - wrong choice of distance, travel into the oncoming traffic and the failure of priority directions", - explained in the department.

In the traffic police also clarified that the main type of accidents are collisions of vehicles - 89 cases.

“What is more, for the past 9 months they registered 65 accidents of rollover crashes, 45 collisions — 19 of them are collisions with stationary vehicles, 17 — with pedestrians, and four — with cyclists,” added the press service.
