Three students of the Penza region detained armed robber

Penza, 16 October 2012. PenzaNews. High school students from village Pashkovo, Zemetchinsky area, the Penza region Andrei Biryukov, Mikhail Komarov and Ruslan Peregudov detained a 47-year-old man, who attacked a shop with a knife.

According to the press service of the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, the incident occurred when the shop was under supervision of only a saleswoman.
“The resident of the neighboring village Saltykovo entered the shop, and threatening with a knife, took all the money. The woman, taking advantage of the offender’s distraction, ran outside and started calling for help. Three students walking nearby came to her call — ran into the shop, knocked the knife out of the offender’s hands, knocked him down on the floor, and kept him till the police officer arrived,” explained in the department.
The press service clarified that the criminal case under Part 2, Art. 162 of the Criminal Code “Robbery” was filed, which provides for imprisonment for up to 10 years.
“The management of the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs in Zemetchinsky area considers encouraging students for their courage and help arresting a dangerous criminal,” summed up in the office.
