Criminal investigation into accident involving Oleg Totsky sent to Investigation Committee

Penza, 12 November 2012. PenzaNews. Criminal investigation into the accident involving a well-known Penza businessman Oleg Totsky, which resulted in death of a person, was sent to Investigation Committee. According to the Senior Assistant Attorney of the region Yuliya Makarova, at the time of the accident, Oleg Totsky was a candidate for deputy of the Legislative Assembly, and investigation of criminal cases involving these persons falls within the investigative jurisdiction of the Investigative Committee.

“After the Prosecutor’s office of the Penza region investigated the criminal case, it was sent for further investigation to the investigation department of the Investigative Committee of Russia in the Penza region, in accordance with the item “b” part 2 Art. 151 of the Russian Code of Criminal Procedure,” she explained.

As previously reported, on Friday, September 14, Oleg Totsky performing a U-turn on a Lincoln car collided with Suzuki-250 motorcycle. The driver of the motorcycle, born 1991, died at the scene, and the passenger was taken to the hospital with injuries of varying severity.

A criminal case was opened under part 3, Art. 264 of the Criminal Code “Violation of traffic rules and operation of vehicles.” Medical examinations conducted as part of the criminal proceedings detected no trace of alcohol in the blood sample of Oleg Totsky and the dead man.
