Penza, 13 November 2012. PenzaNews. A criminal charge under subsection “a” Part 3, Art 286 of the Criminal Code “Abuse of power”, was filed against the interior security officer of the ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Penza region, suspected of causing bodily injury to a citizen at the police station.

“According to the investigation, on September 22, 2012 at 3 a.m. at the department of the interior security the ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Penza region kicked the detainee, born 1977, in the head and hit him at least five times in the body. The detainee was taken to the police department for a record under Art. 20.21 of the Administrative Code “Appearance in a public place in a state of intoxication.” As a result of misconduct the man received bodily injuries classified as moderate,” commented the Head of Investigative Department of Investigative Committee in Penza, Media relations division, Lyudmila Fomina.

She pointed that earlier the police officer was taken into custody.

“The investigation continues,” the agency interlocutor concluded.
