Case against resident of Zarechny having hit down traffic police officer sent to Penza court

Penza, 27 November 2012. PenzaNews. The investigation of the criminal case against a resident of Zarechny, born 1988, operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated and having hit a traffic police officer in Chaadaeva St in Penza, completed and sent to the court.

“On October 14, 2012 around 7 a.m. the defendant, while driving VAZ 2107 and passing Chaadaeva St lost control of the vehicle and hit the traffic police officer standing on the side of the road and registering previously occurred road accidents,” reported the Senior Assistant of the Head of Investigative Department of Investigative Committee in Penza, Media relations division, Lyudmila Fomina.

She said that as a result of careless criminal actions of the accused the traffic police officer, born 1982, received multiple fractures of the extremities and a closed head injury, which together resulted in serious bodily injury on the basis of a significant loss, of at least one-third, of working ability.

“The resident of Zarechny is charged with a crime under Part 2, Art. 264 of the Criminal Code “Violation of traffic rules and operation of vehicles.” This article provides imprisonment of up to four years, with loss of driver’s license for up to three years,” the agency interlocutor commented.
