Two teenagers accused of extorting money from peer in Penza region

Penza, 3 December 2012. PenzaNews. Two 17-year-old residents of Kuznetsk, the Penza region were accused of an offense under Part 2, Art. 163 of the Criminal Code “Extortion,” which provides for up to seven years of imprisonment.

“The investigation found that from September to October 2012 the minors illegally demanded for money from his peer in the amount of 500 to 2,5 thousand rubles and beat him. The victim was forced to give up and give them the money,” commented the Senior Assistant of the Head of Investigative Department of Investigative Committee in Penza, Media relations division, Lyudmila Fomina.

She noted that the investigation gathered enough evidence to send the criminal case with the confirmation of the indictment to the court for consideration on the merits.
