Penza, 3 December 2012. PenzaNews. Over one thousand violations were identified during the prosecutor’s inspection of observance of the rights of the disabled, the elderly people, and other vulnerable groups of citizens in the Penza region for 11 months of 2012.

According to the Senior Assistant Attorney of the region Yuliya Makarova, among the most common violations were the failure to ensure unimpeded access to the public buildings occupied by the local authorities and other agencies, the failure to provide quotas for employment and medication.

“Thus, it was found that in September 2012, some disabled people were not provided with the necessary medication due to irrational allocation of funds in the regional oncology center,” the agency interlocutor explained.

She added that all identified violations were taken under prosecutor’s office supervision — documents on administrative offenses submitted, and cases filed, which are already considered, and the guilty are brought to the statutory responsibility.
