Penza, 6 December 2012. PenzaNews. A tragic incident in the result of which a district police officer was killed, occurred in Liteynaya St, Kamenka, the Penza region.

“The officer of duty received a call from a woman who reported that her husband was acting aggressively, and asked to send the police. At the scene, the district police officer found out that the man started off to his companion. When the police officer arrived at the stated address, he was shot in the chest. After that the criminal barricaded himself in the apartment with his friend and a 3-year-old child,” reported the press service of the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

The ministry added that the representatives of law enforcement agencies immediately left for the scene in order to negotiate and release the people.

“During the negotiations the criminal freed his companion and the child. When the man refused to surrender, it was decided to use special means. In the result of the operation, the suspect, born 1964, left the apartment and was detained by the police,” the press service reported.

The regional Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia noted that the police found a handmade shooting device and one bullet for it at the crime scene.

“A 35-year-old district police officer was taken to the central hospital, where he died at 02.05 during the operation. He had a wife and two young children,” the press service summed up.
