Traffic police officers used firearms to arrest 16-year-old driver near Penza

The traffic police officers of Sursk, Gorodishchensky area, the Penza region were forced to use government issued firearms in the pursuit of car VAZ-2106, driven by a 16-year-old teenager. This was stated by the press service of the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia on Friday, December 7.
“The car was moving at high speed, and the driver refused to obey the police request to stop. During the pursuit of the offender, the traffic police officer made two warning shots into the air, but the car continued to move at the same speed, then the officer made one more shot at the wheels,” explained in the department.
The press service added that after pulling up the driver tried to escape, but was arrested.
“According to the teenaged driver, he borrowed the car from his friend, and when he realized that he was being chased, he got scared and accelerated. The teenager will be placed on record in the department of youth affairs. The owner of the vehicle will be fined in the amount of 2,5 thousand rubles,” concluded the press service of the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.
