Penza, 20 December 2012. PenzaNews. A patient of Sosnovsky psychoneurologic hospital, having taken a nurse hostage and demanded a car with a full tank, was neutralized during a special operation conducted in Bessonovsky area, the Penza region on Thursday, December 20.

“The incident occurred when the patient was in the canteen. The nurse was cooking dinner using a knife in his presence. The man snatched the knife out of her hand and took her hostage. Due to the skillful and professional police actions, the nurse was freed, and the perpetrator was neutralized,” informed the head of the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs, Police Major General Alexander Kasimkin, who had personally supervised the special operation.

The press-service of the ministry noted in an interview with news agency PenzaNews that the hostage was not hurt.
