The number of defendants in the criminal case of illegal VAT reimbursement from the federal budget for a total amount of 67 million rubles increased to seven people. This was announced by the head of the Investigative Committee of Russia in the Penza region Oleg Troshin during a meeting with reporters on Friday, January 11. “It is possible that the number of people involved in the crime will grow,” he added.

Oleg Troshin also noted that at the moment four facts of the criminal activity have been disclosed, which were committed by the crime group involving the Chairman of the Standing Committee on socio-economic development, industry, transport, communications, and business, and a member of Penza City Duma of the fifth convocation representing United Russia Oleg Tyugaev, who is currently on the federal wanted list.
“The cases of illegal activity amount to more than two, and the investigators know all of them. However, they are under investigation now,” he said.
Oleg Troshin pointed out that the deputy is also suspected of organizing a criminal group.
