Taxi driver to pay 300 thousand rubles to lady-passenger in Penza

Penza, 18 January 2013. PenzaNews. Compensation for moral damage in the amount of 300 thousand rubles was charged in favor of a resident of Penza, who was attacked over three years ago.
“On November 11, 2009 the woman took a taxi. The driver took her into the woods, where demanded to have a sexual intercourse with him. When the woman refused to obey, the taxi driver hit her with a hammer on the head, and she fainted. When she recovered consciousness, she found that her gold jewelry was gone,” the press service of Oktyabrsky District Court of Penza told news agency “PenzaNews.”
Subsequently, the taxi driver who was found guilty of not only this crime, but the murder of two other passengers, was sentenced to life imprisonment in a penal colony of special regime.
“The plaintiff asked the court to charge the man in her favor of compensation for moral damage, because she continues having severe dizziness and headaches. In turn, the defendant asked the court to dismiss the claims of the plaintiff, because he covered the cost of the victim’s treatment,” the press service of the court explained.
“As a result of illegal actions of the man, the victim received not only physical, but also moral suffering. Given to this fact, the court satisfied the claim,” the press service concluded.
