Kuznetsk resident sentenced to probation for insulting police officer

Penza, 24 January 2013. PenzaNews. A resident of Kuznetsk, the Penza region was sentenced to two years of imprisonment with a probation period of 2 years for public insult of a police officer and use of violence against him.
As the press service of the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia told news agency “PenzaNews,” the incident occurred in October 2012.
“Senior district police officer of the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in Kuznetsk, arrived at the scene of an administrative offense — an apartment, the owner of which was in a state of intoxication. The man began using obscene language towards him, and in response to a demand to stop illegal actions he hit the police officer with his fist twice,” the press service explained.
The ministry noted that during the trial the man admitted his guilt.
