Penza, 18 February 2013. PenzaNews. Investigating authorities of Investigative Committee in the Penza region brought charges against three criminal investigators and a senior authorized district police officer of the regional department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Penza region, who illegally used a stun gun against the detainees.

The Senior Assistant of the Head of Investigative Department of Investigative Committee in Penza, Media relations division, Lyudmila Fomina reminded that, according to investigators, on 27 September 2012 the senior authorized district police officer of the Penza region illegally detained a young man and took him to the police department by falsifying the administrative record of offence. There, he and three other criminal officers tried to beat the information out of the young man about whereabouts of his friend, the suspect in the theft of computer equipment.

Lyudmila Fomina noted that the senior authorized district police officer was also accused of violating the traffic rules being in a state of intoxication, which caused death of a person.

According to the regional department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the police officers were dismissed from the law enforcement agency, and their immediate supervisors suffered strict disciplinary punishment, including dismissal.
