New type of online fraud registered in Penza

Penza, 21 February 2013. PenzaNews. A new type of the Internet-fraud was registered in Penza. The hackers demand to transfer money in return of allegedly found documents.
“On Wednesday, February 20, the police department No. 5 received a complaint from a local resident, who explained that he posted an advertisement about losing his passport on the Internet, and put his cell phone number there. On the same day, he received a message stating that the documents were found, and to get them he was required to transfer 1,200 rubles. However, after the transaction the documents were not returned,” the press service of the regional department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia told news agency “PenzaNews.”
The ministry noted that the number of the criminal is registered in the Vologda region.
“At present, the police are taking measures in order to identify people involved in this crime,” the press service added.
