29-year-old man died of complications from H1N1 in Penza

Penza, 25 February 2013. PenzaNews. 29-year-old resident of Penza died of complications from H1N1. The incident occurred on February 18, but it came out only on Monday, February 25.
“The man fell ill on February 8, treated himself independently without applying for medical care. On February 13, he called an ambulance and was hospitalized to the pulmonology department of the city hospital No. 4 with diagnosis “bilateral polisegmental pneumonia.” Two days later — on February 15 — the patient was transferred to the intensive care of the regional hospital named after N. Burdenko, where he died on February 18,” the press service of the regional department of the regional Service for Customer Supervision told news agency “PenzaNews.”
The ministry also noted that H1N1 was confirmed by laboratory test when the patient was still alive.
According to virological monitoring of respiratory viruses circulation, from the beginning of 2013 in the Penza region, they registered 56 cases of influenza A (H3N2), nine cases of influenza A (H1N1), nine cases of RS-virus, nine cases of adenovirus, two cases of parainfluenza viruses, and seven ceases of other viruses.
