Resident of Mordovia sentenced for felling trees for amount of 174 thousand rubles in Narovchat

Penza, 28 February 2013. PenzaNews. A sentence of imprisonment for a term of 3 years with a probation period of 3,6 months was appointed to a resident of Mordovia who illegally cut down trees in Narovchatsky area, the Penza region for a total of 174,755 rubles.

“It was found that the offense was committed in the period from September 20 to October 27, 2012. The man cut down 29 pine trees on 22,43 cu. meters, some of which he moved to his house. Later he was arrested by the police while trying to remove the rest of the logs out of the forest,” the press service of Narovchatsky district court of the Penza region reported to news agency “PenzaNews.”

The verdict has not come into force yet.
