Penza, 1 March 2013. PenzaNews. Compensation for moral damage in the amount of 100 thousand rubles was recovered by the court in favor of a resident of Lunino, the Penza region, who delivered a dead baby through the fault of the doctors.

“According to the plaintiff, who was registered in the central area hospital, she suffered from medical negligence resulting in miscarriage,” a representative of Luninsky area court told news agency “PenzaNews.”

He added that, according to the head doctor of the hospital, monitoring the pregnancy was carried out in accordance with the requirements, but they overlooked to do all the required antibody blood tests.

“In turn, the gynecologist, who was monitoring the patient, said the woman was subjected to a full correct examination,” the agency interlocutor said.

He specified that according to the criminal examination, the fetus died due to hemolytic disease that developed as a result of improper monitoring of the plaintiff’s pregnancy.

“The result would have been different in case of qualitative health care services, including regular serology blood tests for anti-rh antibodies and vaccination to prevent immune conflict,” the representative of the court commented.

He noted that the decision has not yet entered into force, and may be appealed within the statutory period.
