Sentence pronounced to woman who hit two pedestrians when being intoxicated

Penza, 14 March 2013. PenzaNews. Sentence of 1,4 years of imprisonment in a penal colony with deprivation of driver’s license for a period of 2,6 years was appointed to Penza resident, born 1990, who hit two pedestrians.
“It was found that in September 2012, the convict was driving her car Daewoo Matiz along 8 Marta St toward Stroiteley Ave. At unregulated crosswalk, the female driver, who was drunk and moving with excessive speed, hit two people,” the Senior Assistant Attorney of the region Yuliya Makarova told news agency “PenzaNews.”
According to her, the health of both pedestrians was seriously damaged, which resulted for one of the victims in the third group of disability.
“Moreover, it was found that the woman drove intoxicated again in October,” the agency interlocutor added.
She specified that the sentence has not entered into force yet, and may be appealed within the statutory period.
