Penza student detained for trying to transport mobile phones to penal colony

Penza, 25 March 2013. PenzaNews. A student of one of Penza institutes, born 1993, was arrested while trying to transport mobile phones and accessories to penal colony No. 4.

“During the inspection, we confiscated sticky taped boxes containing nine mobile phones, 13 chargers for them, one SIM-card, hands-free set, and USB-cables,” the press secretary of Federal Service of Execution of Punishments of Russia for the Penza region Andrey Popkov told news agency PenzaNews on Monday, March 25.

He noted that the detained was a brother of a convict serving a sentence in the penal colony.

“A report on administrative offense was filed on the incident,” he added.
