“I dropped off the passengers near the Agricultural Academy and went on to the final stop. I noticed a minibus standing on the side of the road. Driving up to it, I slowed down because there could have been passengers getting out of it. Two girls ran out from behind the minibus. I stepped on a break, but the speed was still too high, about 35 km/h. I believe that all the participants of the accident are to blame for what happened,” Vyacheslav Senotrusov said.

He added that he has a great driving experience since 1983.

“I have been working as a bus driver for a year and a half. I have an accident on my account, which occurred in 2011, but there were no victims,” Vyacheslav Senotrusov noted.

As news agency PenzaNews reported earlier, the girls, born 1992 and 1995, who died under the wheels of the bus in Penza on Sunday, March 24, were crossing the roadway outside the crosswalk.

It was found that at 17:30 the bus driver hit two girls who appeared from behind the minibus which stopped at the oncoming traffic lane, and started moving across the road from left to right outside the crosswalk. As a result of the accident the pedestrians died on the spot from the injuries.

At present the accident is under investigation based on which further action will be taken.
