Penza, 25 March 2013. PenzaNews. 40-year-old resident of village Mokshan, the Penza region, who tried to rape an underage girl, was sentenced to five years of imprisonment in a high-security penal colony, and the restriction of freedom for a term of two years.

“In July 2012, in a deserted place the man noticed a girl, born 1997, she was alone, and so he attacked her and tried to rape. The resident of a neighboring house heard the screaming and ran out to help, he caught him and called the police,” the Senior Assistant Attorney of the region Yuliya Makarova told news agency “PenzaNews.”

She noted that during the investigation, the man admitted his guilt.

“The verdict has not entered into force yet, and may be appealed within the statutory period,” the agency interlocutor explained.
