Penza, 26 March 2013. PenzaNews. The police confiscated over 100 bottles of counterfeit vodka from the bar in Bakunina St in Penza.

As the press service of the regional department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs told news agency “PenzaNews,” the reason for the check was the information from city hospitals on the cases of poisoning in pubs.

“It was found that the liquids contain components hazardous to life and health, including methanol, acetone and benzaldehyde. This kind of vodka may cause impaired heart function, damage of central nervous system, and respiratory failure,” the department explained.

They also added that the test results were sent to the investigating authorities for further action.
