Penza, 28 March 2013. PenzaNews. The object resembling a grenade, which was discovered in the main building of Penza Pedagogical Institute named after V. Belinsky on Thursday, March 28, turned out to be a toy. This was reported by the assistant of the department of media relations of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Penza region Valentina Kurnosova.

“The alarm signal about a suspicious object was received at 11:15. EOD specialists and police immediately came to the scene, and the students and the faculty of the university were quickly evacuated,” the agency interlocutor explained.

She noted that after examining the object, EOD specialists came to the conclusion that it was “not even a dummy grenade, but simply a toy.”

“The object has been removed and sent for examination. The fact is under investigation,” Valentina Kurnosova added.

She stressed that the Pedagogical Institute has resumed its normal work.
