Cases of stealing from regional budget revealed in Penza region

Penza, 29 March 2013. PenzaNews. Two cases of stealing from the regional budget committed, presumably, by the former director general of a limited liability company, operating in the Penza region were revealed by the police.
“It was found that during the period from November to December 2011, a woman, who was heading a limited liability company at that time, took advantage of trust relationship with the director of the woodworking company, and on behalf of this company, she submitted documents for a grant in the amount of 300 thousand rubles, which were officially intended for the development of small and medium sized business. In exchange for that, the offender promised to buy a new woodworking machine. She failed to fulfill her promise and used the funds herself,” the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Penza region commented to news agency “PenzaNews.”
The ministry added that the second offense was committed by the woman using the same fraud scheme.
“Taking advantage of trust relationship with an individual entrepreneur, on his behalf she submitted for the grant in the amount of 300 thousand rubles for the same target program, promising to buy the press-machine. She appropriated the funds again,” the press service noted.
The department clarified that as a result, the damage caused to the Ministry of Investment Development and Business of Penza amounted to 600 thousand rubles.
“Criminal cases were filed under Part 3, Art. 159 of the Criminal Code “Fraud,” the regional department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs summed up.
