Penza, 10 April 2013. PenzaNews. Penza resident, born 1990, found guilty of illegal purchasing and selling of “spy” trinkets, was sentenced to 6 months of imprisonment.

“It was found that in July 2012, the man made an online order of technical equipment disguised as a remote key fob for car alarm, and then decided to sell two of them. On July 31, one of such trinket was purchased by an officer of “K” department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Penza region for 1,400 rubles, and the other camera was handed to the police by the young man at his own will,” the Senior Assistant of the Head of Investigative Department of Investigative Committee in Penza, Media relations division, Lyudmila Fomina clarified to news agency “PenzaNews.”

She specified that based on technical expertise, cameras were considered special equipment; the right to use them is restricted to special security services only.

“The verdict has not entered into force yet,” the agency interlocutor added.
