Penza, 25 April 2013. PenzaNews. The police and tax authorities revealed the fact of tax evasion committed by the managers of Penza regional office of one of the community organizations.

“According to available information, in 2011, this organization was engaged in commercial activity —construction and maintenance of buildings and structures. It was found that the company had been misusing VAT tax deduction in the field of execution of construction works at its own expense. Tax deduction was not directed to statutory purposes, but to gaining further profit. As a result, the amount of damage to the federal budget amounted to over 150 million rubles,” the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Penza region told news agency “PenzaNews.”

The ministry clarified that a criminal case was filed under paragraph “b” Part 2, Art. 199 of the Criminal Code “Evasion of taxes and (or) fees from organizations.”

“At present, the members of the Economic Security and Anti-Corruption department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the region are investigating the incident,” the press service added.
