Traffic police officer to be dismissed for hitting three people by his car near Penza

Penza, 26 April 2013. PenzaNews. Employees of operational and investigative department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Saratov region carry out official investigation against traffic police officer, who hit three residents of the Penza region and escaped from the crime scene. Based on the results of the investigation the officer may be dismissed from the department.
“It was found that at 00.30 on Monday, April 22, the police officer, born 1973, being off service was driving his own car Renault Laguna from village Tamala back home. When passing through the unlit section of the road near village Malaya Sergeevka, Tamalinsky area, he hit three residents of the Penza region walking along the roadway in the same direction. After that he fled,” the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Saratov region told mews agency “PenzaNews.”
The ministry clarified that as a result of the accident, all victims received injuries of varying severity and were taken to the hospital.
“The supervisor of the officer will be subjected to strict disciplinary responsibility” the press service added.
