Penza university professor fined for bribe-taking

Penza, 17 May 2013. PenzaNews. The penalty of a fine in the amount of 40 thousand rubles and the deprivation of the right to engage in teaching in higher educational institutions for a period of 2 years were assigned to the faculty member of Penza State University of Architecture and Construction (PSU AC), who was found guilty of accepting a bribe from a student.
“It is established that on 20 December 2012, being in the building of PSU AC, the senior professor wrote “passed” in the record book of one of the students without actual testing. For his illegal action, he received a bribe of 1 thousand rubles,” the Senior Assistant Attorney of the Penza region Yuliya Makarova told news agency “PenzaNews.”
She noted that the sentence was passed by the court in accordance with the position of the public prosecutor.
