Penza, 20 May 2013. PenzaNews. A resident of Penza, born 1981, who decided to rob a bank to get money for his newborn child, was detained by the police at the crime scene.

“The incident occurred on Sunday night, May 19. The alarm of the bank office in Kizhevatova St went off, and the police arrived promptly to discover the damage of the plastic door — a small cut out “window.” In the hall behind the ATM, there was a man with locksmith tools in his hands,” the referent of the department of extra-departmental security service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Penza region Lyubov Pashkova told news agency “PenzaNews.”

According to her, this man was handed to the criminal investigative group.

“He explained to the police that he had decided to commit a crime to improve the family financial situation — two weeks ago, his baby was born, but he did not have enough money to provide his family,” the agency interlocutor explained to news agency “PenzaNews.”

She added that at present, the incident is investigated, after which procedural decision will be made.
