Penza, 23 May 2013. PenzaNews. Over 100 police officers, including patrol officers, criminal investigation officers, juvenile inspectors, and cynologists with dogs, were involved in night search for a boy, born 2004, who was afraid to come home after receiving a bad mark.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Penza region, at 23.00 on Wednesday, May 22, the police received a statement about the disappearance of a second-grader submitted by the child’s mother.

“According to the woman, at about 14.00 the boy left home and never returned, the search brought no results. The police checked the yard, shops, tried to identify people who might have seen the child. Search work lasted all night long,” the department explained.

The police found the boy early in the morning, when he was on his way home.

“The schoolboy explained that the day before he received a bad mark for behavior because of a fight with a classmate. The boy was afraid that his parents would scold him, so he returned home, put on some warm clothes, took a pack of instant noodles and went for a walk with a friend. In the evening, he found shelter for the night in one of the entrances of a block-of-flats near his school. He saw that his father and a cynologist with a dog were looking for him, but he continued to hide. He slept on the stairs, and in the morning, he decided to return,” the press service explained.

“We had a preventive conversation with the boy about his behavior,” the department summed up.
