Jeep driver who hit child by car captured in Penza region

Penza, 24 May 2013. PenzaNews. The police detained the driver of Land Rover Freelander on suspicion of committing a traffic accident in village Bolshaya Izhmora, Zemetchinsky area, the Penza region, in the result of which a 7-year-old girl suffered.
According to the press service of the regional department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the accident occurred on Thursday afternoon, May 23.
“The driver hit the child on Bazarnaya St on an unidentified vehicle and fled. The school girl was hospitalized with a fractured hip, concussion and traumatic shock. Plan “Interception” was immediately announced in the surrounding areas. As a result, the car belonging to a resident of the Moscow region was stopped in village Ushinka. The driver was a resident of Zemetchino, born 1994. Also in the car, there were two passengers — college students, born 1996,” the department explained, adding that the accident is under investigation, based on the results of which procedural decision will be made.
