Penza, 28 May 2013. PenzaNews. The police officers are investigating the circumstances of death of a 14-year-old boy from Mokshansky foster home for mentally handicapped children, located in the Penza region.

“The statement about the disappearance of a child with mental disorder, who, according to preliminary data, left the institution at his own will, was received on Saturday, May 25. The following day, the boy’s body was found in the reservoir for waste water treatment near the foster home,” the press service of the Investigative Committee of Russia told news agency “PenzaNews.”

The ministry clarified that, presumably, the child’s death was caused by asphyxia.

“Probably, the teenager went into the water to swim, which is indicated by the clothes he left on the bank,” the Investigative Committee added.

The press service explained that the investigation will also verify the actions of the employees of the social institution.
