Penza, 4 June 2013. PenzaNews. Police officers arrested a resident of village Ushinka, Zemetchinsky area, the Penza region on suspicion of stealing a goat, which he intended to kill and eat.

“A resident of Zemetchinsky area applied to the local police department. He explained that someone stole a goat belonging to him, which he left unattended out in the field. Investigating group arrived. The police officer established that the theft was committed by an unemployed and previously convicted of similar offenses resident of village Ushinka. The stolen goat was found in his house safe and sound. The suspect explained that he was going to eat the animal, but it was too late,” the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Penza region told news agency “PenzaNews.”

The ministry added that the police found later that this man was involved in another theft.

“In May 2012, he happened to be in the area administration where he spotted a wallet in one of the rooms and stole it. The wallet contained two thousand rubles and two bank cards. The stolen things were returned partially,” the press service noted.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs stressed that the case of goat theft is being investigated, and there is a possibility of initiating criminal proceedings under Part 1, Art. 158 of the Criminal Code “Theft,” as for the wallet theft, the proceedings have already been instituted.
