Penza, 8 July 2013. PenzaNews. Five men drowned in water bodies of the Penza region over the past twenty-four hours. This was reported by the press service of the regional department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs on Monday, July 8.

“Two accidents, involving men born 1969 and 1956, occurred in the Sura River in Penza on Saturday, July 6. The first man was swimming near Barkovka village, the second — not far from Litvinov St,” the department explained.

The press service added that another tragic case was registered in Vadinsk village, Tyurevsky pond.

“The pond worker, born 1972, drowned there while bathing,” the press service said.

The department clarified that two more people – men born 1955 and 1960 – drowned in the ponds located near villages Evlashevo and Alexeevka.
