Sentence on case of land fraud at Sura Reservoir pronounced in Penza

Penza, 9 July 2013. PenzaNews. The former head of administration of the Penza region Alexander Murashkin and Vladimir Goryunov, who headed the administration of Alferyevsky village council, were found guilty of abuse of power in the case of land lot fraud on the bank of Sura Reservoir.

“The investigation and the court found that the men illegally acquired ownership of municipal property — 11 plots of land located in the territory of Alferyevsky village council the Penza region near Sura Reservoir. Property rights have been issued for the spouse of Vladimir Goryunov, who was the head of the farming community. They prepared necessary documents on behalf of Goryunov’s spouse, and then using their power made the decisions or arranged it so that the others in power would make such decisions,” the Senior Assistant of the Head of Investigative Department of Investigative Committee in Penza, Media relations division Lyudmila Fomina.

She specified that following that scheme, 11 land plots were transferred in the long-term lease to the wife of Vladimir Goryunov, and then sold to her at a lower cost.

“The estimated damage caused by illegal actions of the convicts amounts to over 158 million rubles. As a part of the investigation, the measures on damage recovery are being undertaken — the land plots have been arrested. Alexander Murashkin and Vladimir Goryunov were sentenced to 3 and 2 years of imprisonment respectively,” the agency interlocutor summarized.
