Penza, 15 July 2013. PenzaNews. LLC “Kamenka” was held liable for unauthorized discharge of sewage water in the river Kamenka out of two sewage pumping stations located in village Staraya Kamenka, the Penza region.

“The Ministry of Forestry, Hunting and Nature of the Penza region received a report from the villagers of Lenino, the Penza region on pollution of the river Ardym with sewage water. Ardym is a tributary of the river Kamenka, which, according to the assumptions of local residents, was polluted by the wastes coming from inactive sewage treatment plants of village Staraya Kamenka,” the press service of the Ministry of Forestry, Hunting and Nature of the Penza region told news agency “PenzaNews.”

The examination showed that the company “Kamenka” violated Part 1, Art. 56 of the Water Code of the Russian Federation, and Part 2, Art. 52 of the Federal Law “On Environmental Protection.”

“For these violations the office holder was prosecuted in accordance with the Code of Administrative Offences of the Russian Federation. The head of LLC “Kamenka” received an order demanding to stop the discharge of sewage water into the river,” the representative of the ministry summed up.
