Penza, 26 July 2013. PenzaNews. The Volga Federal District Investigation Department on Transportation of Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation is conducting preliminary inquiry on the case of death of an 18-year-old girl on the railway.

“According to preliminary data, at around 4.00 on 26 July 2013, the train fatally injured a girl. According to the witnesses, she threw herself under the train,” said the Senior Assistant of the Volga Federal District Investigation Department on Transport of Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation Dmitry Zakharov.

He noted that the operational investigative group immediately went to the scene.

“Currently, the complex of verification activities is held to establish the circumstances of the accident,” he added.

According to Dmitry Zakharov, the investigators found a cell phone of the girl, which contained a farewell text message addressed to her relatives.

“It was established that earlier, on 30 June 2013, about two kilometers away from the scene there was another tragedy — the girl’s 25-year-old boyfriend was also fatally injured by train,” the representative of the Investigative Committee told news agency “PenzaNews.”

“On 25 July 2013 the girl turned 18,” he added.
