Penza, 14 August 2013. PenzaNews. The sentence against 31-year-old resident from Kolyshleysky area, the Penza region, entered into force. The woman who stabbed her lover to death in front of her son’s eyes was sentenced to 6.5 years of imprisonment in a penal colony.

“It is established that in March 2013, there was a quarrel between the partners, during which the woman grabbed a kitchen knife from the table and stabbed her lover in the neck one time, which caused in a massive blood loss and resulted in the death of the victim,” the Senior Assistant Attorney of the region Yuliya Makarova told news agency “PenzaNews.”

She added that during the trial, the woman fully admitted her guilt.

“It was due to fact that the murder was witnessed by her minor son who came to the kitchen to drink water. The boy gave truthful testimony in court,” she said.

Yuliya Makarova also clarified that mitigating circumstances were taken into account: a full confession of guilt, presence of two dependent children, assistance to the investigation, applying first aid to the victim immediately after the stabbing and sincere repentance.
