Penza, 21 August 2013. PenzaNews. An administrative detainee, born 1976, escaped from a police patrol car in Penza on Wednesday, August 21.

According to the press service of the regional department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, the incident occurred at around 9.30 am.

“It was established that a police officer was transporting the arrested in his patrol car. On the way he briefly left the vehicle, and the detainee, who was sentenced to 15 days of imprisonment for driving without appropriate documents, took advantage of the situation,” the department explained.

The press service added that currently the officers of the operational and investigative department of inner security are working at the scene.

“An internal investigation has been instituted, during which all the circumstances of the incident will be determined, as well as an assessment of the actions of the police officer will be made. Investigative materials will be passed over to the competent authorities for further action,” the press service stressed.
