Penza, 29 August 2013. PenzaNews. A criminal case filed against a resident of Penza, born 1964, who illegally cut down two bird cherry trees in the yard to park the car, was sent to the court for consideration on the merits.

“It was established that the incident occurred in early October 2012. Returning home late at night the man discovered that the all parking spaces near the house were occupied. After that he took a hacksaw and cut down two trees. According to the calculations made in accordance with the provisions of the Russian government and the city administration, the actions of the accused caused damage amounting to 12,276 rubles,” the Senior Assistant Attorney of the Penza region Yuliya Makarova told news agency “PenzaNews.”

She specified that violation of Part 1, Art. 260 of the Criminal Code “Illegal felling of forest” is punishable by a fine of up to 200 thousand rubles, compulsory community service or correctional labor, or imprisonment for up to one year.
