16-year-old robber who beat pregnant woman sentenced to conditional imprisonment in Penza

Penza, 9 September 2013. PenzaNews. A 16-year-old teenager, who beat a pregnant woman during a robbery at a trading pavilion in Kizhevatova Street in Penza, was sentenced to two years of conditional imprisonment.

“It was established that on April 27, 2013 at 15.00, a teenager, who used spice a few hours before the crime, entered a trading pavilion where he attacked a woman-seller, who turned out to be in the late stage of pregnancy, from behind and struck her with his fist at least seven times on the head and body. After that, he threatened her with a knife and demanded to give him all the cash available in the store. The woman, fearing for her life, gave the young man four thousand rubles,” the Senior Assistant of the Head of Investigative Department of Investigative Committee in Penza, Media relations division Lyudmila Fomina.

She added that the attacker fled the scene with stolen money, but a few hours later he was arrested by the police.

“The decision of the court has not entered into force yet and may be appealed within the statutory period,” the agency interlocutor noted.
