Penza, 18 September 2013. PenzaNews. Two traffic police inspectors were arrested for taking a bribe from the driver of a heavy-duty truck which was passing through the Penza region.

“It was established that the officers suggested that the man gave them 500 rubles for an unimpeded passage,” the press service of the regional department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia told news agency “PenzaNews.”

The ministry clarified that the illegal actions of the police officers were stopped by the department of inner security.

“According to the order of the regional department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, investigation began during which the inspectors would not perform their duties. According to the results, the police inspectors will be dismissed from their positions and brought to justice in accordance with applicable law. Their supervisors will also be subjected to disciplinary punishment up to dismissal,” the press service explained.
