Penza, 5 November 2013. PenzaNews. The illegal hostel for migrants was spotted by the police officers during a periodic walkaround in the territory of Zheleznodorozhny district of Penza.

“It was located in one of the buildings near Nakhalovka. A local resident equipped the two rooms with beds for lying down; they were placed in two tiers. The roomers, citizens of foreign countries, who arrived to Penza to earn money, cooked food in the hall, which was used as a kitchen. According to the migrants, they paid the host 1,600 rubles for one bed per month,” the press service of the regional department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation told news agency “PenzaNews.”

The Ministry also added that there were several foreigners in the room when the police officers got in.

“Two of them were detained for the breach of migration legislation and thereafter deported from the Russian Federation. The police also found out that the owner of the building had illegally organized the hostel. Now this fact is being verified, in the result of the verification a proceeding decision will be taken,” the press service said.
