Penza, 6 November 2013. PenzaNews. The deputy of the local self-government committee of Yursovsky rural council of the Zemetchinsky area in the Penza region of the fourth convocation, who is also the founder of LLC “Yursovsky Forestry Husbandry” and the former director of the national public establishment “Yursovsky Forestry,” is accused of illegal forest cutting, taking advantage of his position, on an especially large scale.

“According to the investigation, the crime was committed in the period from December 2012 to February 2013,” the senior assistant of the head of the investigative department of the investigative committee in Penza, media relations division, Lyudmila Fomina told news agency “PenzaNews.”

She added that the accused, having no corresponding government contract, gave instructions to employees of LLC “Yursovsky Forestry Husbandry” to cut the forest.

“As a result 2,707 cubic meters of coniferous and deciduous trees were cut down, which caused the state financial harm amounting to more than 14 million rubles. Moreover, another legal entity won the contract for performing this work in the territory of the national public establishment “Yursovsky Forestry” in 2013,” the agency interlocutor said.

Lyudmila Fomina said that a criminal case was initiated on the basis of the materials provided by the office of the Federal Security Service of Russia in the Penza region.

“The investigators gathered a sufficient evidentiary basis, therefore the criminal case with the approved indictment was submitted to the court for consideration on the merits,” she concluded.
