Penza, 13 November 2013. PenzaNews. The 26-year-old Penza resident confessed in a series of car thefts in the territory of Zheleznodorozhny district committed in order to get criminal fame.

The press service of the regional department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs told news agency PenzaNews that in all the cases the object of the offense was a VAZ car not equipped with the alarm system.

According to the man, he stole two cars to have a ride, and one more car was stolen to sell its parts, but he did not manage to do it. All the cars were found in the territory of Penza or surrounding areas and were returned to the owners,” the department said.

The press service added that there was established the detainee’s involvement in several car robbery cases.

“The offender stole car stereos and other valuables, which were then sold in city markets. Criminal cases were opened upon each case,” the department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Penza region said.
