Fraudster steals 100 thousand rubles from pensioner in Penza

Penza, 13 December 2013. PenzaNews. The Penza police is searching for a thief who fraudulently took the savings of a pensioner in the amount of 100 thousand rubles.

“According to the information available, a stranger walked up to an elderly woman near a bank branch in Austrina Street. He said that he brought a consignment of wine, which is now at the customs, and that he urgently needs money to pay for it. Having asked the pensioner how much money she had on her account, the man borrowed 100 thousand rubles and promised he would return the money with interest,” the press service of the regional department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation told news agency PenzaNews on Friday, December 13.

The press service added that the stranger then disappeared in an unknown direction.

“The signs of the suspect are as follows: 30–35 years old, 170–175 cm tall, full-bodies, round-faced. He was dressed in dark clothes,” the department said.

The press service added that the check is being conducted upon the fraud.
