Employee of cellular company accused of violating secrecy of telephone conversations in Penza

Penza, 13 December 2013. PenzaNews. A 34-year-old Penza resident who worked as a specialist on the information services division of the contact center of one of the mobile operators, whose name is not disclosed, will stand trial on charges of violating the secrecy of telephone conversations.
“According to the investigation, from May to August 2013, the woman out of jealousy looked through the details of a certain subscriber’s connection. However, by law, such information can only be obtained with the consent of the owner or by judicial decision,” the Senior Assistant Head of the Investigative Department of Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation in Penza, Media relations, Lyudmila Fomina told news agency PenzaNews on Friday, December 13.
She added that by now sufficient evidence has been gathered upon the criminal case.
The sanction of Part 2, Art. 138 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Violation of the Secrecy of Correspondence, Telephone Conversations, Postal, Telegraphic and Other Messages” prescribes punishment of imprisonment for up to four years.
