Penza, 3 January 2014. PenzaNews. A criminal case was opened on the murder of 62-year-old resident of Penza area, the Penza region.

“The body of the victim with signs of violent death was found on January 1 in her house located at the farm “Sickle and Hammer.” Criminal investigation officers found out that the last person to visit the house of the elderly woman was a 44-year-old homeless man who previously had criminal charges pending against him,” the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Penza region told news agency PenzaNews on Friday, January 3.

The ministry added that the suspect was arrested and taken to the police department.

“Presumably, he and the woman of the house had a quarrel, during which the man beat the victim with his hands and feet. From the injuries, she died at the scene,” the press service said.
